
ABUBEF is proud to announce the opening of its maternity ward and other health services at the Busuma refugee site.

Following its intervention with Congolese refugees at the Ndava transit site in Cibitoke province, ABUBEF continues its commitment to helping people in emergency situations.

As part of this initiative, initial maternal health and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) assistance has been rolled out at the new Busuma site, located in the Bweru area of Ruyigi commune, Buhumuza province, in eastern Burundi.
On Wednesday, 7 January 2026, the official opening of the ABUBEF clinic and the installation of equipment took place on site. The services offered include: maternity care, prenatal consultations (CPN), postnatal consultations (CPON), prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT), as well as prevention and management of STIs and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).

Thanks to its skilled and experienced staff, ABUBEF guarantees a warm welcome, attentive care and treatment provided in a safe environment.

The maternity ward is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
