As part of WISH2, funded by @FCDOGovUK, ABUBEF, with technical support from the Centre of Excellence for Combating Gender-Based Sexual Violence, has just trained 87 community relays and 29 peer educators from the Congolese refugee site in Musenyi on the prevention of gender-based sexual violence at the community level.
The training course held from 17 to 19 has strengthened the skills of these Community Relays and 29 Peer Educators in effective communication about positive masculinity and awareness-raising approaches tailored to the local context, managing construction and allocating family income, the enjoyment and consumption of psychotropic substances, and responsibility and action.
The main topics shared are: the social construction of masculinity, human sexuality, sexual harassment and positive masculinity and the prevention of VSBG, managing and allocating family income, the enjoyment and consumption of psychotropic substances, and responsibility and action.

Christelle ITULAMYA, a participant in this training course, expresses her satisfaction: ‘I now know about many forms of gender-based sexual violence, including digital, physical, psychological, economic and moral violence, and how to combat them.’
For ABUBEF, the fight against gender-based sexual violence concerns everyone in order to guarantee good sexual and reproductive health. It thanks @FCDOGovUK for its involvement and financial support and calls on other donors to support all efforts in the fight against gender-based sexual violence.
